Oceanography from Space department

The objectives of this department are :

• to develop activities in the field of sensor science based on space programmes,
• to promote the use of sensors for ocean studies : sea and wind state structures, sea ice climatology, plant and sedimentary components of coastal waters.

This department houses the CERSAT (French Processing and Archiving Facility) responsible for managing and processing data from the ERS-1 and ERS-2 satellites, managed by the ESA (The European Spacial Agency).
