In the frame of Workpackage 2: Inventory of existing data and construction of a database

    Partner 5 : (GeoEcoMar) is responsible of the achievement of the  review and compilation of all data relevant to the project. The compiled data set is structured, designed and built  in a user friendly format. The database is revalidate through Geographic Information System allowing geo-referencing, structuring, editing managing and analysing of all the scientific information from the project.

    The deliverable consists in a catalogue of available information – meta-database, a database with existing data  and a bibliographic reference list.

    The data are presented as ESRI GIS files (shape files). The information given represented  about more than 60,000 Km of seismic data and sub-bottom profiler data, more than 170 cores. This information is provided to every ASSEMBLAGE Partner using ArcExplorer; a free ESRI software. The Metadata Base accessible through this WebPage is organized in a MS Excel database (as alphanumeric and graphic information). MS Excel has been chosen , because it allows the user an easy use of the information. For the Excel application the first requested step in using information is to choose the closest screen resolution to your computer's one. This is necessary for a proper display of the raster maps.
