It covers all types of phytoplankton and zooplankton from marine and freshwater areas. PLANKTON*NET's greatest strength is its comprehensiveness as for the different taxa image information as well as taxonomic descriptions can be archived. PLANKTON*NET also contains a glossary with accompanying images to illustrate the term definitions. PLANKTON*NET therefore presents a vital tool for the preservation of historic data sets as well as the archival of current research results.
 SEAFDEC/AQD  750  To enable the effective dissemination of AQD researchers' in-house and external publications for free and online, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center, Aquaculture Department Institutional Repository (SAIR) was born. SAIR is the official digital repository of scholarly and research information of the department. The repository uses DSpace, an open source software, developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries. It is an Open Archives Initiative (OAI)-compliant. The repository shall contain preprints, full-texts or abstracts of journal articles, books and conference proceedings written by SEAFDEC/AQD scientists and researchers. The aim is to promote their publications especially those published in peer-reviewed journals and generate higher citation through increased visibility. It will also provide freely available (full-text) in-house publications of SEAFDEC/AQD. One can retrieve and download digitized copies of fishfarmer-friendly materials like books, handbooks, policy guidebooks, conference proceedings, extension manuals, institutional reports, annual reports (AQD Highlights), and newsletters (SEAFDEC Asian Aquaculture, Aqua Farm News, AquaDept News and AQD Matters). Later, SAIR will expand its collection to include images, presentations, audios, and videos among others. The objectives of the repository are to: (1) provide a reliable means for SEAFDEC/AQD staff to store, preserve, access and share their research output (2) provide ease of access and increase the visibility of SEAFDEC/AQD scientific publications.
 SERPENT Project: Deep-Sea Biology using Remotely Operated Vehicles  1760  Collaborating closely with key players in the oil and gas industry, the "Scientific and Environmental ROV Partnership using Existing iNdustrial Technology" project aims to make cutting-edge ROV technology and data more accessible to the world's science community, share knowledge and progress deep-sea research. The programme interacts with science and conservation groups globally to transparently communicate the project to the public, increasing the awareness of our fragile marine resources. SERPENT is a global project hosted by the DEEPSEAS group, within Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems (OBE) at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (NOCS). The project has a network of UK and global partners.
 SPC Coastal and Oceanic Fisheries Programmes digital library  8456  This digital library comprises 7858 fisheries and aquaculture-related documents, in French and in English, produced by, for, or in collaboration with SPC that are currently available in digital format. It includes newsletters, information bulletins, meeting papers, technical reports, field reports, posters, technical manuals and handbooks, and bibliographies. SPC has produced many more fisheries-related documents that are currently only available as printed copies. SPC's Library, Fisheries Information Section and the Reef Fisheries Observatory keep working on processing these documents into a digital format, starting with the most recent ones.
