Data processing and mapping activity was mainly based before 90's on a manual drawing job of cartographer finalized by contoured bathymetric maps.

Northern Fiji basin cartography results from such project : a numerous data synthesis, covering Pacific ocean from New Caledonia to Fiji islands. 4 maps were drawn by Jean-Pierre Mazé (Ifremer cartographer), using data and maps collected before 1990, and are published at 1/1000000 scale by Ifremer Editions.

Now, bathymetric contours of these 4 maps are digitized : such numeric data have been processed to product a digital terrain model and to allow extended uses of these maps, as coloured contoured maps or 3D views.
