CARTOPEP: West Ireland and West-Scotland margin

Introduction

CARTOPEP cruise results of a collaboration between 2 Ifremer groups, "Géosciences Marines" in Brest and "Ressources Halieuthiques" in Boulogne-sur-Mer.

This cruise went off onboard Ifremer vessel, R/V L'Atalante, in 1995. The goal was the cartography of a part of west-irish and west-scottish continental margin. Fishermen work in this area, for called "deep fishing".

The cartography can furnish a better knowledge of bathymetry and morphology, usefull for fishermen and scientists.

This cruise was supported by european project "PESCA" and was managed by Alain Normand (Ifremer/Géosciences Marines).
