TSS POS/MV 220

The TSS POS/MV (Position and Orientation Systems for Marine Vessels) is an inertial navigation system delivering full 6 degree-of-freedom position and orientation systems for ships.

It combines data from an inertial unit made up of three acceleration meters and three gyrolasers (fibre optic gyroscopes) and two GPS antennas.

It delivers the following data with a sampling frequency of 1-200 Hz :

  • roll and pitch (accurate to 0.02°)
  • heave ( accurate to 5% amplitude)
  • true heading (accurate to 0.1°)
