| There are 6 scientific spaces on board :
These areas are constructed to meet the standards in effect on Ifremer's modern vessels: network and utilities sockets, lab benches to connect equipment, 220 V power supply with back-up, separate air conditioning system. Sounder roomThe sounder room is set up under the main deck between frames 57 and 62 on starboard. The room is designed to receive the electronic racks for some sounders. Only electronics officers access this room to make adjustments or do occasional maintenance tasks. Sensitive sensors roomThe sensitive sensors room is set up on the main deck between frames 25 and 28. Set as it is in the ship's quiet point, it holds the so-called "sensitive sensors", i.e.,
Scientific control roomThe scientific control room is set up on the upper deck. Half a dozen scientists can work there, to monitor acquisition from various pieces of equipment and examine or process the data. To this end, there are work stations and plotters permanently installed there. An outside door makes it possible to place a container (EM 1000 for instance) immediately next to it, with an airlock access.
Wet laboratoryThe wet laboratory opens onto the side passageway, directly below the bathysounder winch's drop point. A double door fitted with with a folding coaming makes it possible to bring a 12-bottle bathysounder in or out onto the outside passageway using a floor rail. Dry laboratoryThe dry lab is set up on the upper deck, in front on the port side of the scientific control room. The area is used as a multi-disciplinary laboratory.
Electronic workshopThe electronic workshop is located in front of the dry laboratory. The electronics officer works there.
