Welcome to the ARCANE Experiment

Observations and modeling of the movement of the Mediterranean Water in the eastern North Atlantic Ocean, in the interior and along the eastern boundary.

The domain of study ranges from latitudes of about 25 N to 55 N, and encompasses the intergyre region of the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

The ARCANE project is a partnership of scientists with a common goal of investigating the circulation of Mediterranean Water in the eastern North Atlantic Ocean. A companion project, EUROFLOAT, is focussed on the Labrador Sea Water as well as Mediterranean Water in the interior only, east of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

This Web Site is currently under construction. For more information please have a look at the french activities in the North Atlantic.
