Cruise and Deployment

During three research cruise from Oktober 1995 to December 1996, 21 Marvor and 20 RAFOS floats were deployed in the North East Atlantic:
  • Oktober 1995 - 15 IfM/Seascan floats at 1000m depth in the northern Canary Basin.
  • September 1996 - 21 Tekelec Marvor floats at 1750m depth in the North East Atlantic.
  • December 1996 - 5 additional IfM/Seascan floats at 1000m depth in the northern Canary Basin.
The following map shows the float launch positions of EUROFLOAT. The IfM/Seascan RAFOS floats deployed in the southern region are marked green, the Tekelec MARVOR floats deployed in the northern region are marked red.
