Information and data mining tool
This website provides you with a new method to obtain and explore information from the Argo array in the North Atlantic ocean.
Our goals are:
Here is a non-exhaustive list of services we provide:
These tools only concern Argo profiles located in the North-Atlantic north of 20S.
Please, report bugs or new service requests to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Select the number of days since floats last reported a profile:
On the map are displayed locations of planned deployment of new Argo profiler for the:
For detailed information please visit the Deployment plan section.
On the map are displayed locations of profiles from your custom selection.
Use the Profile selection wizard to fill in your cart with profiles to be map here.
Note that I won't display more than 20,000 profiles
The NAARC Web API is not available
The website will be loaded with minimal functionality.
Please select a format for your data:See the API documentation for more details on data format.
Please select a format for your data:
Note that these files are automatically generated by the Coriolis Data Center and do not rely on the NAARC api.
By clicking on one of the format below, you will be redirect to the Coriolis Data Center appropriate webpage (you may need to reload the page if you have an error message).
Selection of properties to restrict
'DAC name' restriction:
Technical data handling for each float of the Argo array is under the responsibility of an unique Data Assembly Center.
You'll have the possibility to select profiles handled by one or more specific DAC.
'Data Mode' restriction:
Make a selection according to the Data Mode of each profiles.
Select profiles for any time range of:
'Coordinates' restriction:On a map of the North Atlantic, you'll have the opportunity to draw a rectangular area to select only profiles within it.
Each float of the Argo array is assigned an unique identifying number by the World Meteorological Organization, the so-called WMO numbers.
You'll be able to search for Argo float WMOs in the database and restrict your selection to them.
You'll also be able to paste a coma separated list of WMOs to create your selection.
'Has a ticket' restriction:
Issues reported on:
are incorporated to our database (see the API documentation for more details). Concerned profiles or floats are then reported as having a ticket.
Create your selection according to this boolean parameter.
'Area code' restriction:
Oceanic regions where database profiles are localized are assigned an area code defined as:
Restrict profiles according to this value.
'Parameters in profiles' restriction:
All profiles contain at least two parameters: pressure and temperature.
Select profiles according to possible additional parameters such as:
'% of levels with good data' restriction:
Once quality control procedures have been applied, a synthetic flag is assigned for each parameter of each profile under the '〈PARAM〉_PROFILE_QC' parameter in netcdf files. It indicates the fraction n of profile levels with good data. It can take one of the following values:
For more details see the API documentation of the Argo DM user manual table 2b.
You'll be able to select profiles according to this quality flag for each available parameters.
You must choose a least one selection criteria !
Restrict profiles from their DAC origin
Drag one, or more, DAC name from the left column to the right to select only profiles having this DAC origin:
Restrict profiles from their Data Mode
Drag one, or more, Data mode from the left column to the right to select only profiles having this Data mode:
Restrict profiles within a time range
only profiles with a specific month range:
Restrict profiles from their coordinates
Only profiles within the red box will be selected.
Click on the map icons to modify the rectangular area.
You may want to overlay a float trajectory:
Select profiles from their WMO id
Start to type a WMO number in the left box below. When available WMOs appear to the right, you can select one by a simple click. Renew the search/select process as much as you want to create your coma separated list of WMO restriction.
Select profiles with or without a ticket
Click to select only profiles ...
Select profiles by area code
Select only profiles within one or more of the following areas:
Select profiles by parameters:
Select only profiles having one or more of the following parameters:
Select profiles by % of levels with good data:
Once quality control procedures have been applied, a synthetic flag is assigned for each parameter of each profile under the '〈PARAM〉_PROFILE_QC' parameter in netcdf files. It indicates the fraction N of profile levels with good data.
Use the following table to select the percentage of levels with good data you would like in your selection for each of the available parameters.
|Parameter||% of levels with good data|
