Welcome on the Nausicaa server for the North-Western European shelves

This new version of Nausicaa presents to registered users (users of the former Nausicaa server can still use their account login here) daily images of available marine parameters as observed by satellite, in situ or numerical models. It provides interactive tools to visualize and extract the data. New features will be added very soon, such as visualization of time series at any location and improved animations.

Jan 31, 2008 : New release of the Nausicaa North-Western European shelves server, with (we hope it) simplified data selection. The data products currently available are :

• sea surface temperature analysis (Ifremer/Odyssea, 0.1° resolution, daily merging of all available satellite sensors)
• ocean color products (chlorophyll-a, inorganic suspended matters, turbidity) from Modis, Meris and SeaWifs. 4 days composite maps are also provided.
• daily wind fields from QuikSCAT
• high resolution sea surface temperature from AVHRR sensor onboard NOAA-14 to NOAA-18, and SEVIRI sensor onboard MSG
• composite images of sea surface temperature anomaly
• temperature and salinity in situ observation from Coriolis database, with access to profile plot for floats
• chlorophyll-a, inorganic suspended matters and turbidity in situ observations collected by Ifremer, with time series at stations location
• river outflows

All these data are now accessible by default without having to address a formal request to the administrator.
