Victor 6000 has fullfilled its task. The ninth dive was dedicated to microbathymetry data recording using the MMR and finished yesterday. The submersible will stay in its house from now until the end of the cruise (April 5th).

The little female model of Victor 6000 (the Victorette), strongly attached to the ROV, kept it company until the end and resited to up to 4000m depths ! A technology record for a prototype made out of lab flasks in less than 20 minutes.

The last operation for the Serpentine cruise to be carried out will be a dredge of about 100m long on the Krasnov site. Same aim : getting sulphides ! Hopefully we’ll be more luckier.

The captain will make the decision, in the night, to route to Las Palmas located 1850 miles North – East.
