| | Inventory of the Marine
Data Sets of the French Research Laboratories

This inventory describes more than 240 sets of marine data collected by
about 80 laboratories of the French Marine Research Community and
internatioal data sets of general interest. . It gives the coordinates of
the scientiscts in charge of and the existing internet web sites
addresses. All disciplines of Oceanography are represented: biology,
physiqs, géology, géophysiqcs and marine chemistry. The invetoried data
are produced on different formats, not always digitised.

This inventory represents the French contribution to
EDMED
(European Directory of Marine Environmental Data) accessible via
SeaDataNet/sea-search
portal, with the following objectives of :
 | identifying the data sources, useful to engineers, scientiists, students,
stake holders |
| facilitating the communication of informaton and data between scientists |
| provinding an information system for the ocean surveillance and monitoring |
