The OCEANOGRAPHIC CRUISES DATABASE gathers more than
6700 cruise
summary reports. Each year, more than 100 new cruises are reported. Most
of them have been carried out on board French Research Vessels, but cruises carried out
in the frame of cooperation programmes with foreign institutes are also reported. The French Governmental
Authorities presently in charge of the civilian Oceanographic Fleet are :
IFREMER/GENAVIR,
CNRS/INSU, IRD, IPEV.
